Taking Digital Photographs — an introduction

Change your snapshots into photographs. The basics of handling your camera are followed by how to create compositions that add drama and impact to your pictures. This is a practical event with some time spent in the college grounds taking photographs. There’s also a session that looks into flash; when to use it and when not to.
These workshops are fun and participative — you’ll discover what some of those buttons do and few of the secrets hiding in the menus of your camera.

The introductory workshop helped you change your snapshots into photographs. It’s time to step up a notch and make your photographs into great shots! We kick off our event by sharing a few pictures we’ve taken since the introductory workshop. Then we step up a notch: We look at how photographers’ use the zoom to control what’s in the view and its impact on people and places. We investigate additional modes on your camera that help you freeze motion and separate the subject from the background so you can create dramatic landscapes, impressive portraits, and engaging images

Digital photography with Photoshop — an introduction

You've taken a great digital photograph, the next step is to enhance it in the digital darkroom. This practical workshop introduces the basics of Photoshop, how it works and the essential tools for framing and adjusting images. Through a series of mini projects, you'll be creating dramatic effects and compositions with your pictures. This is a beginner's course; you'll need to bring your own laptop with a licensed copy of Photoshop, and know the basics of your own computer.

Presentations and pubic speaking — an introduction

If you give talks to societies, speeches at social events and weddings, or presentations in work, this course enables you portray a positive image of yourself, so you can put your points across and be appreciated by your audience.
This workshop covers the key parts of a presentation, the use of story-line structures, and pacing yourself to match the topic, and time available. Along with a hints and tips based on practical experience that enables you to stand and deliver interesting and compelling talks and presentations.
